Textile Industry is the second largest employment generating sector in India and power-looms occupy an important place in terms of production, employment & export. All these power looms have huge power implication whereas currently the world we live in is under threat of global warming. Hence there is an urgent need to ensure evolution of affordable Green Technologies which would support sustainable activities and clean energy. Deploying such Green Technologies in large sectors like power-looms, is our honest effort in this direction.

An Aurovillian, Mr.Sanjay N Kusale, a young entrepreneur considered Auroville, the international township as the apt place for this. Thus in the October of 2013 SHRI AROHAN came in existence. Buying two second hand power looms from Salem, Tamil Nadu, SHRI AROHAN embarked on this journey of evolution. A Solar Kit is installed on the existing power loom with very few minor modifications lead to operate the loom on 100% solar energy. Further, incorporating use of organic cotton as raw material and natural dyes, to evolve highly environment friendly textile products. Initially it fumbled but stood, struggled but continued and achieved its destination, that firm ground where it can stand as an example of green technology.
